THEY DIDN’T GO GROCERY SHOPPING LAST WEEK

Grocery shopping means going to a supermarket or store to buy food and other items for the house. Many people do grocery shopping every week. Some go on Saturdays or Sundays. Others go after work. In this topic, we will focus on talking about past events. For example:

  • Why not?

  • Because they were very busy.

We will use the past simple tense (especially negative forms), and review vocabulary and expressions connected to buying groceries. You’ll also learn to talk about what people do regularly (present simple), what they are doing now (present continuous), and plans for the future.

Examples:

  • I went grocery shopping yesterday.

  • She doesn’t go shopping on Mondays.

  • They are buying vegetables now.
