THAT DOG ISN'T VERY FRIENDLY. IT BARKS AT PEOPLE

GRAMMAR: Use "BE + Adjective" and Present Simple

We use the verb to be with adjectives to describe people or animals.

Structure:

  • Positive: Subject + is/are/am + adjective

  • Negative: Subject + is/are/am not + adjective

  • Questions: Is/Are/Am + subject + adjective?

Examples:

  • The dog is friendly.

  • The dog is not friendly. / The dog isn't friendly.

  • Is the dog friendly?

Using Present Simple for actions:

  • It barks at people. (He/She/It + verb + -s)

  • It does not bark at children. / It doesn’t bark at children.

SENTENCES

Positive:
