HE DID SOMETHING DANGEROUS

Sometimes people do things that are not safe. We use the word dangerous to describe actions that can hurt someone. This topic teaches how to talk about past actions that were risky or unsafe, using past simple.

Examples:

  • He did something dangerous yesterday.

  • She climbed a tall mountain without help.

  • They swam in a river with strong currents.

Use the past simple to describe what happened. The verb do becomes did in the past.


1. GRAMMAR:

1.1 Past Simple - Regular and Irregular Verbs

Use the past simple to talk about completed actions in the past.

Structure: Subject + past verb + object

Examples:

  • He did something dangerous. (irregular verb)

  • They climbed a dangerous cliff. (regular verb)

Negative Sentences:

Subject + did not + base verb

4. SENTENCES:

4.1 Positive Sentences

  • He did something dangerous last weekend.

  • They climbed the old tower.

  • She crossed the river alone.

4.2 Negative Sentences

  • He didn’t tell his parents.

  • She did not use a helmet.

  • They didn’t listen to the guide.

4.3 Questions

  • Did he do something dangerous?

  • Did they see the warning?

  • Why did she go there alone?

4.4 Answers

  • Yes, he did something dangerous.

  • No, they didn’t see the sign.

  • She went alone because she wanted an adventure.

6. READING:

At one point, he slipped, but he held on and didn’t fall. His friends were scared. After that, Tom said, “That was risky, but exciting!” His parents were not happy when they found out. They told him never to do something so dangerous again.
