WHY WAS HE SO SUCCESSFUL?

 The question "Why was he so successful?" asks about the reason someone did very well in life, in work, or in something important. We use was to talk about the past. Successful means he reached his goals or did something very well. We can say someone was successful in sports, business, music, or school. People can be successful because they work hard, practice a lot, or have talent.
