CLOSE YOUR EYES

"Close your eyes" is a simple command we use when we want someone to shut their eyes. We say it when we want someone to rest, play a game, or surprise them. For example, if you are playing hide and seek, the leader says, "Close your eyes!" before counting. Or, if you have a surprise for a friend, you can say, "Close your eyes and don’t peek!" This phrase is very common in everyday English and easy to use.

Examples:

  • Teacher: Close your eyes and take a deep breath.

  • Friend: Close your eyes! I have a surprise.

  • Mother: Close your eyes and go to sleep.
